I’m a dedicated and compassionate therapist specializing in narrative and collaborative therapy. I have a commitment to social justice for people of color. With extensive experience in individual, couple, family, and group therapy, I serve diverse communities.

As a woman of color, I bring a unique and critical perspective to my practice, one that is deeply rooted in understanding the complex interplay of race, culture, and systemic oppression. I believe in the transformative power of storytelling and see each client as the expert on their life narrative. By helping my clients re-author their stories, I can help empower you to reclaim your identities and find strength amidst adversity.

I integrate the principles of narrative and collaborative therapy with a strong social justice framework. I am deeply attuned to the societal and historical contexts that shape your experiences. By fostering a collaborative therapeutic environment, I ensure that your voice is heard and respected. I want to honor your lived experiences.

My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and empowering. I foster a safe space where you can explore your narrative without fear of judgment. I have a strengths-based approach - helping you uncover and build upon your resilience.

I am passionate about addressing the mental health needs of people of color, and recognizing the unique challenges they face in navigating systems of oppression.

My approach as a therapist

I immigrated to California from Nigeria at 18, bringing a whirlwind of challenges. A cloud of uncertainty followed me from childhood and grew louder in adulthood, especially with societal pressures to define my identity. I was at the intersection of many identities, none fitting neatly into society’s boxes.

I understand how difficult it can be to live in undefined spaces and margins that do not make room for you. I am here to help you explore your intersectionalities and navigate all parts of your identity.

Who decided on your current identity? Did you have a say in it? How do others’ definitions of you affect the way you show up? Who would you like to be?

My approach is gentle yet firm. I believe in walking alongside you, collaborating in a therapeutic space that honors your unique cultural background while fostering resilience and growth.

My approach is inclusive and tailored to help you navigate the challenges of acculturation, intergenerational conflicts, and identity struggles.

Together, we will uncover and embrace your true self, empowering you to live authentically and confidently.
