Frequently Asked Questions

+ How long is one session and how often should I attend?

A 1:1 session takes between 45-50 minutes. I typically recommend seeing clients consistently, 1x/week in order for therapy to be effective. You can always schedule a consultation with me so we can talk about what works best for you.

+ Do you take insurance?

I am not a in network with any insurance panels. I do, however, work with most PPO insurance plans. I provide Superbills to my clients upon request.

We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

Please give me a call if working with your PPO insurance is something you are interested in. I can work with you so that you can get reimbursed for session rates as much as possible.

+ Is there a benefit or disadvantage to working with insurance?

Working with someone outside of your insurance plan allows you to choose your provider and find the right match. Insurance companies don’t do a matching process. Also, insurance requires you to have a mental health diagnosis to prove medical necessity for coverage.

+ What is your rate per session?

My rate for individuals starts at $250 and for couples it starts at $275.

+ Do you offer a sliding scale?

I have limited sliding scale spots for clients who need financial assistance. This is also short-term therapy.

+ Do you provide a Good Faith Estimate?

Yes! You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost before you schedule a service. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
